2008 Enter the Zone Events
Through Enter the Zone Events you can help your school and community offer healthy eating and active living options—and have fun at the same time! Click on an event below to order event kits (including posters and incentives) and access online templates, activity ideas for celebrating Go for the Greens, Move it Outside, Walk to (or at) School Day and Apple Crunch.
Coordinated in conjunction with the International Walk to School Day, this event builds support for creating Safe Routes to School and implementing Walking School Bus Programs in PA schools.
Celebrated during National Apple Month, Apple Crunch promotes the apple, and other fruits and vegetables, as a healthy snack. Celebrating Apple Crunch is easy! Schools, recreation centers, workplaces, families and other youth organizations can get involved by featured apple recipes during lunch or snack time, holding apple tastings, reading "Johnny Appleseed" or by visiting to local Farmers' market or orchard.
The March 17th event will reach out to youth, families, and the community to show that a variety of green veggies can be good food and good fun through taste-testings, trivia contests, increased menu offerings, recipe competitions, and many other vegetable-based games, activities, and lessons.
Move it Outside encourages youth, families, and community members to head outside with a Frisbee® and enjoy the outdoors as a celebration during National Turn off the TV Week.
